Advance phone orders will be taken Thursday, April 1st from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. and Friday, April 2nd from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. at 412-221-3497. Doors open at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, April 2nd, and close at 7:00 p.m. or whenever we run out of food, whichever comes first. See the Fish Fry page for the menu and prices. Annual Fund Drive
The 2010 Bower Hill VFD Fund Drive is now underway. Information was mailed to all known occupied residences in the service area during the week of October 12, 2009. If you did not contribute to the fund drive, a second mailing was sent to your residence during the week of February 14, 2010. If you did not contribute, and do not receive a mailing by March 1, 2010, call the station at 412-221-3497 and leave a message, and we will get one to you. If you receive a second mailing and are unsure whether you contributed already, call the station at 412-221-3497 and leave a message, and we will check our records. If you receive a second mailing and know that you contributed, disregard the mailing. It may have crossed in the mail. Let us know by calling the station at 412-221-3497 and leave a message. We will confirm your contribution. Please leave a call-back number, so we can confirm the information with you. Thanks to everyone who has supported Bower Hill VFD in its 86 years of service. Your fund drive donation includes your subscription to Scott Township EMS.

Time to Change Your Smoke Alarm Batteries
We're now just a few weeks from March 14th, when we'll move the clock ahead to daylight-saving time. Remember, when the time changes between standard and daylight-saving times, it's time to change your smoke detector battery. If you keep another schedule, that's fine, as long as you remember to change the battery at least twice a year. If it has been longer than six months since your last battery change, now would be an excellent time to do it. Smoke alarms save lives, but only if they are installed and maintained properly. If you have an AC-powered (plug-in or permanently wired) alarm, change the back-up battery at least once a year. Likewise, if you have a carbon monoxide detector, change the batteries on the same schedule.
