Initially, Bower Hill and Glendale supplied their existing ambulances to Scott Township EMS. These vehicles were of vastly different interior configurations and driving characteristics. When it came time to replace them, the two departments decided on a common specification, and each department purchased one vehicle. The two new vehicles were identical in every way.


The vehicle supplied by Bower Hill was known as "Medic 741," and the one supplied by Glendale was "Medic 742." Each vehicle had the emblem of the "owner" department on the door, but each was used completely interchangeably.



The interior was configured for safety and ease of cleaning. It was sufficiently roomy inside, but this made it rather large outside. 


The size of the patient module is evident in this photo, taken on November 24, 2006, the day before the vehicle was traded to PennCare. Its replacement would be somewhat smaller.
