When the STEMS backup ambulance reached the 210,000 mile mark, Bower Hill and Glendale decided to jointly purchase a replacement that had more in common with the existing primary ambulances. This unit is a "mini-mod" type, like the other STEMS ambulances, but with sloping sides instead of the straight sides on the patient module. 


This ambulance, like its predecessor, is used by the second-out crew and as a reserve piece in case one of the two primary units is out for repair.



The interior design is generally similar to the other STEMS ambulances, with all equipment and the ambulance cot in easy reach for the attendants. 


The sloping sides of the patient module are very evident from the front of the vehicle.
